[Properties] white or white like crystalline powder; odorless or almost odorless, tasteless; when meets the light, its color will turn deeper; Extremely slightly soluble in water, slightly soluble in ethyl alcohol, does not dissolve in the ether, the chloroform and dissolves in the acetone, in the diluted acid and the alkazid solution. [Pharmacological action] This product is better in inhibiting the bacteria's growth than the sulfanilamide. It is sensitive to the hemolytic streptococcus, pneumococcus, gonococcus, staphylococcus,meningococcus,bacillus coli and the shigella dysenteiae.
[Indications] Used for those diseases which caused by infecting the hemolytic streptococcus, pneumococcus and the meningococcus, such as the pharyngitis, tympanitis, tonsillitis, pneumonia and the urinary tract infection, etc.
